The theme for the conference is "Heterogeneous Computing" with sub-themes including subjects such as "Why heterogenous computing?", "Hardware sub-systems (CPU, GPU, Compute, I/O and Network)", "Co-design and environment (software, exascale (Excalibur, ECP...), cloud, hybrid computing)" and "Emerging technologies (FPGAs, DSP and other accelerators)". Topics of interest also include, but are not limited to, all forms of advances in high performance computing, storage, networking, big data analysis, quantum computing, and software development.

Selected posters will be displayed physically at the conference and also online, as well as being included in the official conference proceedings.  Our online CIUK poster platform allows delegates, and competition judges, to send questions directly to the poster presenters and we plan to display selected posters from Monday 8 November up to the conference on 9-10 December, where a panel of judges will select their winning poster. The winner will be announced before the final session on the afternoon of Friday 10 December.

All finalists will receive FREE access to the conference in Manchester.

Important deadlines:

  • Sunday 24 October – deadline for submission of abstracts
  • w/c Monday 1 November – applicants informed of panel decision
  • From Monday 8 November - posters uploaded to CIUK 2021 website
  • Thursday 9 December - posters displayed at CIUK 2021
