Rebecca has been working for STFC for the last two years. She started at STFC in January 2017 as a Data Analyst in the Computational Sciences and Engineering Division, and recently joined the SciML Group in STFC.  In her previous position, she has been a key contributor for the Innovate UK’s ADDoPT project (https://www.addopt.org), in collaboration with academic and industrial partners (including Pfizer, GSK, AstraZeneca and Bristol-Myers Squibb), where she focussed on applying machine learning techniques to a broader set of cheminformatics problems concerning drug design. Her contributions involved exploring different models and architecture to build models of ‘druglikeness’ and predicting physical-chemical properties of small drug molecules.

Prior to this, Rebecca completing her PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Manchester, focusing on the yeast chaperome response to thermal shock, extending this assay to the entire proteome using regression modelling.
