I studied Physics at the University of Crete and gained my PhD from the University of Oxford in 2004 with the thesis entitled “Computational Studies of the E. Coli glycerol channel, GlpF". Subsequently, I was involved in post-doctoral research work on various themes from computational biophysics at the University of Oxford (2004-2006), University of Leeds (2007-2008), University of South Florida (2010-2011) and the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (2011-2015) before joining the SCD at STFC in 2016.

Currently, I am a Senior Linux Systems Administrator in the Data Services Group in SCD with responsibility for managing data storage services and the development and implementation of the new tape archive service, CTA which will replace CASTOR. Additionally, I contribute to the development of XRootD specifically in support of the ALICE experiment and its integration with storage services at RAL (Echo, CTA).
