Intel oneAPI Training Workshop

This two-day training event is being held on 10th-11th May at the Daresbury Laboratory, Cheshire, and online for anyone who is unable to attend in person. There is no fee to pay for this training.

Delivered by Intel certified trainers, this event will provide a practical introduction to Intel oneAPI.​​​

oneAPI is an open, cross-architecture programming model that frees developers to use a single code base across multiple architectures. STFC Scientific Computing has launched a oneAPI centre of excellence, and making these codes accessible to more scientists will increase significantly the scope and speed of their research. 

You will be taught by Intel accredited trainers and will receive a mixture of hands-on and taught training with lunch and refreshments provided on the day.​​​The event is suitable for anybody who would like a working knowledge of using the oneAPI toolchain to create new or optimise existing code. It is designed to be inclusive and so those who want to understand things from the ground up are also encouraged to attend. Those with no prior programming experience may not find this course the right starting point.​ 

oneAPI logo white.pngDay one will pay particular attention to the SYCL standard, providing practical guidance and examples on how to use oneAPI to create software that can work across multiple GPU vendors using a single piece of code. On day two, the other tools and optimisation methods available in oneAPI will be introduced to show how to create cutting-edge and optimised parallel code. You will leave these training days with a broad understanding of the Intel oneAPI framework.
