​​​​​​​​​Louise Davies joined the STFC Graduate Scheme in September 2016 after completing a BA in Computer Science at the University of Cambridge. As part of the scheme, she took part in multiple six month projects and a three month placement covering a wide range of the department’s activities – for example contributing to the development of multiple web services that enable scientists’ research, setting up a remote data visualisation system and improving authentication controls to one of the department’s data storage systems. She then joined the Software Engineering Group in November 2018 to work on the ICAT collaboration (https://icatproject.org/), for which she is currently redesigning the web frontend that allows scientists to find and download their experimental data.​
